Things To Do At Possum Kingdom Lake



There are plenty of things to do at PK Lake!  Boating and water recreation are the main event, but fishing is popular, as well as hiking, cycling and of course, golf.  After hours, the lake has some great places to eat or hang out with friends.  Don't know where to go or stay?  Call the Bunch at BigFish and we'll point you in the right direction!

The folks over at the Slalom Shop are in the process of creating a Boating Club here at Possum Kingdom Lake.  The Slalom Shop, headquartered in Lewisville, TX recently established a new dealership location at PK Lake.  We'll post more details as they become available in August.  If you're interested or would like to get involved, give us a call and we'll get you in touch with the club organizers.

  • February 7, 2008 - Trout Release (below the Dam) - Texas Parks & Wildlife

  • March 1, 2008 - Mardi Gras Parade on Bourbon Street & Evening Shrimp Peel sponsored by the PK Chamber of Commerce
Parade starts at 3 pm ~ Shrimp Peel follows at 6 pm at the PK Chamber Building.  Shrimp Peel tickets are $22 ea, BYOB (no glass).  Prizes given for Best Parade Float and Best Mardi Gras Costumes.  King Possum & Queen Carp will be crowned at the dinner ~ live music and dancing follows dinner.

The PK Mardi Gras store is now open at the PK Chamber during business hours Monday through Friday.  Stop by and get your throw beads, float decorations, hats, or whatever you need.  Do you get the feeling we take our annual Mardi Gras party seriously?!  Its lots of fun, and definitely a "not-to-be-missed" event at Possum Kingdom Lake. 

This event can sell out in advance!  Tickets can be purchased 7 days a week at the BigFish office (just past the 4-way stop as you head down the Peninsula area at Possum Kingdom Lake).  Call your favorite BigFish Realtor and they'll hold tickets for you.  Or you can purchase tickets from the PK Chamber (Mon - Fri).  The Chamber is located on Hwy 2353 between Park Road 36 and Hwy 16 North - their phone number is 940/779-2424.
