If you have ever traveled Highway 180 on the west side of Minerel Wells, Texas, you surely would have noticed Yogi Bear standing behind a white fence waving to all the passers by. This Yogi, to most of us here at Possum Kingdom Lake is a landmark. I, for one, always look to see his smiling face and to see if he is sporting a new outfit. While driving home one day this week, I thought of the perfect blog topic.  I was really excited about the prospect of contributing such a great thought to our BigFish Real Estate website.  Upon arriving  home I was greeted by our big, loveable Blood Hound, Leroy, and received the biggest globbing of my life.  After that, Tug came at me with his favorite toy and was ready for me to toss it as far as I could.  When I entered the house I was greated by Sandy's orange cat, Rufus, and nearly fell because he likes to rub at your feet.  I was then met by Sandy with a "glad 'yer home kiss."  I began to tell her my idea and realized *^&*&&$%^"I Forgot It!" – oh well.

I've been working for months on our new website - it's an arduous process. Anyone who's done one knows this.

Picking the right platform – meaning the software to build the site and the network to host – is without doubt, the most critical decision in the whole process.  We had long known our first site wasn't performing and was not ever going to work the way it had been sold.  We received many leads from it, but it was frustrating to use.

We spent many months looking at possible vendors with template-based systems all the way through totally customized solutiuons.  In December we finally settled on a one with a stable and highly flexible platform, and I must say its been a pleasure to work on our website again!
